If She Only Knew by Jade Winters

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance, Short Story

For a short story this one really packed a punch. It had angst, humor, love, and was kinda hot. I plan to read more by Jade Winters after getting a taste test with this quick but very well developed read. Not easy to put that many complexities in 10,000 words. Kudos!

Alias by Cari Hunter

GENRE: Thriller, Mystery, Lesbian Romance

This was an incredible suspense/mystery with abit of sexual tension thrown in. The chemistry between the two main characters was really well developed as were the characters themselves. The complexity of their relationship had as many twists and turns as the plot. What makes a book great in this genre for me is not being able to predict what will happen and Hunter definately achieved that with this story.

Girl Games by Mia Archer

GENRE: YA Lesbian Romance

Archer does a great job of making being a nerd cool. She is a master of creating a sweet love story between girls you would think would be total social opposites. This book, like others I have read by Archer, is YA/teen friendly so it can be suggested to those young girls just coming out. In fact both main characters deal with questions about their sexuality throughout most of the book.

McCall by Patricia Evans Jordan

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance

The setting description in this book was amazing but it was the characters that really made this story.  The main characters of Sara and Sam were well developed and the secondary characters added life to the small community. The way the relationship developed had a good flow. I really look forward toreading more books by Patricia Evans Jordan.

Coming Around Again by Beth Burnett

GENRE: Lesbian Romance

Ever feel that your timing just sucks? That is one of the main themes of this book. You get to see the two main characters evolve over the course of their lives. Their lives and choices are what drive the plot very much like most of our own lives. I like how Burnett shows we all make mistakes but we can never lose hope.

Wildsky by Magnolia Robbins

GENRE: Lesbian Romance, Mental Health

I really enjoyed the love story in this book but more importantly the messege about depression an mental health. The author dealt with these issues in a very thoughtful and caring manner. The love story shows how important having someone to confide in and care is to someone dealing with the demons in their own head. I would definately recommend this book. I think, besides being and enjoyable read, that it may be able to help some people.

The Misadventures of Two Reluctant Zombie Hunters: Hospitals are Hell by Rhavensfyre

GENRE: Zombie Apocalypse, Badass Lesbian Main Characters

I just love these books. I mean where could you go wrong zombie nuns? The characters are super snarky, it is a weapon in itself. This is not your typical zombie apocalypse book though because it has the perfect mix of gore and humor. I have recommended these books to my zombie loving and lesfic friends because it is not exclusive in one genre or the other. Greatly looking forward to Vol.3.

The Promise by Claire Highton-Stevenson

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance, Loss

This book left me emotionally drained. I cried, I laughed, I fell in love with the characters. I really do not have the words to say how amazing this book was but just...WOW! Read it but have tissues nearby. This one really hits all the feels.

Love Without Limits(Pink Bean #7) by Harper Bliss

GENRE: Contempory Lesbian Romance (polyamorous)

Harper Bliss does an amazing job creating emotional and great characters. Reading her Pink Bean books is like meeting up with old friends. I will say this one caught me a little off guard but sometimes it is good to come out of your comfort zone. As Jo learns in this installment of the series. It was a bit eye opening to say the least.

Twisted Deception by Isabella

GENRE: Thriller, Mystery, Lesbian Romance

Having twist in the title is appropriate because this book had so many twists and turns it made my head spin. It was exactly what you want in a thriller. The characters were not wimpy but not superheros either. The setting of the cutthroat corporate world added a different dimension as well.It just all fit perfectly. Then add sexual tension. Yes, this book had it all.

The Road Ahead by A.E. Radley

GENRE: Contemporay Lesbian Romance

This was a a fun read. The quirkiness of the characters was wonderful. It began with a solution to an inconvienence but ended with much more. You got to see the characters evolve as they went through their journey. There was a range of emotions but that is what a good author does.  I would definately put this on a beach reads list.

Never Letting Go by Liv Devereaux

GENRE: Short Story, Contemporary Lesbian Romance

Really short. I think there could be so much more to this story and would love to see it fully developed. That said it catches the emotions of the characters and the situation fully.

Perfect Little Worlds by Clifford Mae Henderson

GENRE: Literary Fiction 

This was a well written and created book but it was a little hard to read. The whole concept was amazing as were the characters. What made it hard was that it would jump through time and it wasn't exactly clear when that occured. The story covers three distinct times in the main characters life which is fine just often it would be one paragraph in one time then the next in another with no bridge. Perhaps, it was just me but this disrupted the flow of an otherwise very creative novel.

Forbidden Journey by Amanda Kay

GENRE: Lesbian Romance, Supernatural, Mystery (Novella)

This is a novella so it was a quick read. It definately was different and took me a bit to wrap my head around it. That does not take away from the creativity of the plot or the depth of the character. It is not your typical romance but we need more people to branch out of the tropes. There was a major twist that I did not see coming. An overall enjoyable read even if I hate snakes.

Pleasure Cruise by Yolanda Wallace

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance(W/ a twist)

This was a fun book to read and it had some different twists on the typical romance. The characters were well developed and all fit together. I need to read some of the authors previous works since I loved the characters so much and apparently they are intoduced in earlier works. I would classify this as a good beach read since it is not heavy topics but it is not fluff either.  It is just a well written story.

Landing Zone by Erin Dutton

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance, Enemies to Lovers

This book dealt with some big issues in an amazing way.  It is an enemies to lovers book but at it's core it is about forgiveness and healing.  The chemistry between the two characters was well developed even as it evolved. This is a good book for a beach read or better yet a book club read.

Wayworn Lovers by Gun Brooke

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance

This book had some holes in the plot but not enough to sink it. The characters made up for what was lacking and since this is a character driven story it worked. Brooke did a good job describing anxiety issues and that made Giselle seem more authentic. This gets four stars from me because despite the short fallings it was still a pleasure to read.

Big City Blues by Virgina Black

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance (Novella)

The characters in this book were well developed and stubborn. They kept fighting against what they really wanted. This is what drove the story. The setting itself was almost like another character it was so well described and just drew the reader in.

In Plain Sight (WeHo #11) by Sherryl D. Hancock

GENRE: Lesbian Contemporary Romance

It was like a wonderful reunion with old friends to get a new WeHo book! As usual Hancock has created complex characters that all mesh together. The issues the characters deal with are realistic. In this book in particular I liked the use of font for flashback. If there was ever a series I could read more than one it would be this one.

Hers to Protect by Nicole Disney

GENRE: Action, Crime, Lesbian Romance

I really liked the characters but I think a few could have been more developed. There was a definate flow to the story and a build to a climax. Some points it seemed too much like an action film but it is fiction. Overall it was an enjoyable face paced read. There may be some triggers when it comes to domestic abuse though.

Kiss & Tell by Saxon Bennett and Layce Gardner

GENRE: Lesbian Romantic Comedy

These are my go to "I need a laugh right now" books. I have yet to be disappointed. Where Bennett and Gardner come up with their wild characters and scenarios is beyond me. They are comic geniuses! I really can not recommend them enough.

The Amnesia Project by Barbara Winkes

GENRE: Crime Fiction, Lesbian Romance (And I really hope this is still science fiction)

This is a very scary story givin the time we live in. I had trouble reading it because I was so angry. Winkes did an amazing job developing characters that you both love and hate. She captured the uncertainty and angst that seems to be prevelant in our current time to only channel it to a more productive route. It was the "Handmaid's Tale" and "Stepford Wives" combined with a scary Trumpian veiw. We must NEVER let anything get like this.

Just Jorie by Robin Alexander (audio version read by Lisa Cordileone)

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance

Ok, this is the first audio book I have listened to for pleasure. I loved the story and the characters were amazing. That is what I am basing my review on. The narrator was good as well just I don't like to listen to books, reminds me too much of work. That said the quirkiness of the character and the banter really makes this story. I really did laugh out quite a bit. I do believe I prefer the voices in my own head though. So, whichever you prefer listen or read pick this book up. It is worth it.

Damaged by Kim Pritekel

GENRE: Mystery, Drama, Lesbian Characters

This book was so many different dramatic stories all rolled into one. Kim Pritekel did an amazing job intertwining all the different plot lines into one incredible stong novel. The characters where well developed and did not over power the overall plot or each other. It was a well woven tapestry.

Death Magic(The Veil Chronicles, #2) by May Dawney

GENRE: Urban Fantasy, Lesbian Characters

This is the second book in the Veil Chronicles and it has a different perspective from the first although I feel the events run fairly parallel. You learn more about the society and even one of the characters from Wild Magic. It is all like pieces of a puzzle and I can't wait to fit them all together.

Taste Testing by M.E.Tudor

GENRE: Lesbian Contempoary, Novella, NOT PG

Well done for a novella! It actually is quite a tease and left me wanting more. Looking forward to Golden Mountains.

Our Demented Play Date by Kat Fletcher

GENRE: YA, Lesbian Romance, Coming Out

This was a very cute coming out/first love book.  The two main characters just seemed to gave a chemistry. Of course besides coming out it dealt with a bad reaction to that from parents. I would recommend this book to certain students and even parents dealing with a child coming out.

The Last Time I Saw Her by Kathleen Knowles

GENRE: Lesbian Romance


This book was well written. I had to keep in mind the time periods it was set in while reading it due to the labels used. I think it accurately portrayed what being a lesbian in the 1980's was like. The interaction between the characters seemed forced but again I believe this was done intentionally to add to the overall mood. I think there were quite a few sterotypes in this book and that was a bit off putting but as I said in the 1980's some people were fitting those just to fit in. Overall it was a well written and edited book.

Sparks Like Ours (Seven Shores, #3) by Melissa Brayden

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance (NOT PG)

Brayden creates amazing characters. There is always amazing chemistry but this book hits it out of the park! I loved the banter between the characters and all their quirks. In this book Gia is the main focus just like Isabel in book one, and Autumn in book 2. I really want to just sit and drink coffee at the Cats Pajamas with this group and even weird Larry. Book 4, Hadley's turn?

Hearts Like Hers (Seven Shores #2) by Melissa Brayden

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance(NOT PG)

This is the second book in the Seven Shores series. This has the hot female firefighter. It gets better though because Autumn is brewing up coffee. Coffee, hot firefighter, friends, and love. Pretty darn good I say. I really love the characters in these books. I just kinda want to hang out with them. Yes, they are all too pretty but isn't that why we escape into books? This is definately a binge series.

Love and Lechery at Albert Academy: Katie and Pina and the Stalker of Albert Hall by Dolores Maggiore

GENRE: Mystery, Lesbian Romance

Pina and Katie's adventures continue as does their quest to be together. The new characters in this book add so much more to the story that made it even more amazing. Of course I was picturing Hogwarts when I thought setting but I am a nerd. Maggiore does not just create a well paced suspense with numerous twists and turns but also captures the difficulties of being gay in that time. There is so much packed into this story I couldn't put it down. More please!

Death and Love At the Old Summer Camp by Dolores Maggiore

GENRE: Mystery, Lesbian Romance, Coming of Age

This was unlike any other book I have read! It harkened back to my days of reading Nancy Drew with my mother. If the mystery wasn't enough there is more than one gay turn in this book. The setting was so well described I could actually feel like I was there following Pina and Katie. Highly recommend this book.

Just Tell Her (Chicago Series #2) by Nicole Pyland

GENRE: Contemporary Lesbian Romance

I am totally loving this series by Nicole Pyland.  The characters are engaging and the plot moves well. I will recommend that you read #0 and #1 in the Chicago Series before reading this book. It can stand alone but is so much better when you know all of it, especially to understand the relationship at the center of the story.  Looking forward to book #3.

I read book one of the Chicago Series before I read this one which leads up to it. Didn't matter, I was still captivated. The plot flowed smoothly driven by amazing characters. I really enjoy books that deal with overcoming obsticles and have really well developed characters.
