Traveller by Caitiona Page

54769316. sy475  GENRE: Coming of Age, Lesbian Fiction

Caitriona Page is a first rate story teller true to her own Irish roots. She weaves the plot around twists and turns that transports the reader to the story. Her characters have a depth that build on each other. It was a tale of a true modern day bard. This tale of coming of age and working through trials is just what I needed.  I look forward to reading more from this wordsmith.

Dal Segno by Jax Meyer

41593199. sy475

GENRE: Lesbian Romance

I had to delay reading this book because it was too raw after A Marine's Awakening but apparently you are supposed to read this first which would be less painful. Meyer is an artist with emotions when it comes to words. This story is all about second chances and fresh starts which honestly, couldn't we all use that at some point.

A Marine's Discovery by Jax Meyer

GENRE: Lesbian Romance, Military

This is the follow up to A Marine's Awakening. Five years later Sharon and Cam face new hurdles but the strength of the characters is still amazing.  Meyer does an amazing job of making you feel the angst of Cam throughout this book. The growth we see in Cam during this novel was fun to see even if it was painful at times. There is a rawness in this book that was not in the first one but it fits with the stages of the characters lives.

GENRE: Lesbian Romance, Military

This is a different coming of age romance because it takes place during Don't Ask, Don't Tell. The characters are well developed an multi-leveled. Cam is the non stereotypical shy butch while Sharon has enough personality to glow. How they develop and face challenges throughout this novel will make you cry, rage, and laugh. It is said this is the second book in the series but I recommend reading it first.

GENRE: Lesbian Romance

In Matthews third book she continues to flex her ability to explore the human condition. In this book she tackles culture and family. The struggles to overcome fear and insecurity as individuals as well as a couple are faced within this novel. Fear is the enemy but love is stronger.

For The Telling (WeHo 13) by Sherryl D. Hancock

44779630. sy475

GENRE: Lesbian Fiction, Romance

Hancock's books are like meeting up with old friends and feeling you never left. In this she introduces new characters that will meld into the WeHo clan and become family. She never shy's away from conflict but shows with support you can get through anything. These are my comfort books.

The Word Shimmer by Jenn Matthews

53058468. sx318 sy475

GENRE: Lesbian Romance

This was a VERY slow burn book. The characters are well developed and the writing is excellent but I think the plot may have taken some scenic routes. Matthews does bring it all back together but it wasn't as well formed as her debut book. This said her amazing insight into emotions and being able to put them into words to create amazing characters makes her books enjoyable. Overall I would recommend this. She is a young author and we all know that authors improve with age.

Ticket To Love by Donna Jay

42072987. sy475

GENRE: Lesbian Romance(Sexual Content)

Donna Jay does a great job of creating characters with flaws but still likable. With Ticket To Love both Tara and Kathryn have issues but they find they work well together. This was a fast moving relationship that I would have like to see a slightly more slow burn on. As usually Jay's sexual contact is very fantasy provoking but not crude, very well done.

44 Hours by Donna Jay

53486164. sy475

GENRE: Lesbian Romance

Enemies to lovers is always an interesting theme. This was not a slow burn really like a lot are but I am not sure Donna Jay knows slow burn (not a bad thing). The characters and their quirkiness was endearing. As usual Jay has an amazing description of her setting which transports you to New Zealand. A jungle setting would normally freak me out but the lack of nope ropes(snakes) in NZ make it more of an adventure than a nightmare. As the sex scenes go it is pretty mild for Jay but the innuendo of adventure in the bedroom is there are well.

Remember Me, Synthetica by K. Aten

53439305

GENRE: Science Fiction, Lesbian Fiction

Aten has an incredible repertoire when it comes to her writing but she excels at true science fiction. This is not an easy genre to write and do well but previously with "Waking The Dreamer" and now with "Remember Me, Synthetica" Aten masters it.

This book has all the tech you want in a true science fiction but not at the expense of the character development. In fact the tech builds the main character Alex, a genius scientist, who may perhaps be a little on the Autism spectrum. The growth of this character throughout the book was organic as was her blossoming relationship with Emily. It was a thoroughly enjoyable read and I hope there is a follow up.

Oh, and there is a cat.

Night Cap (Whiskey Springs #3) by J.A. Armstrong

40527312. sy475

GENRE: Lesbian Romance

Fall brings warm and cozy feelings to Whiskey Springs. Love is in the air as relationships grow and develop. These characters are so well developed you can see and hear them. It is a strength of the author from all the books I have read by her. She does an amazing job of catching the human spirit and making the words come to life.

Cigar Club (Whiskey Springs #2) by J.A.Armstrong

GENRE: Lesbian Romance

It was great to see the women of Whiskey Springs again. This book had a few bumps in the road and we learn more about Riley. As usual Armstrong creates delectable characters who ooze personality. I can see this being a movie or a TV series.

Open Tab (Whiskey Springs #1) by J.A. Armstrong

37911128. sy475

GENRE: Lesbian Fiction/Romance

I am a big fan of J.A. Armstrong and the characters she creates. The setting of the small town of Whiskey Springs just made me want to go visit there for a drink. The complexity of the relationships was intriguing without being forced. I binged.

Falling Through Shooting Stars by Nancy Ann Healy

24895602

GENRE: Lesbian Romance(Slow Burn)

The beginning of this book may bother some people but it is life. Not every thing is happily-ever-after and being content is not the same as happy. That said, I thought it was an amazing book. The characters were real as were their emotions. This is something Healy is amazing at, creating emotionally complex characters. I have read many of her books and have yet to be disappointed

The Phoenix Empress (Their Bright Ascendancy #2) by K. Arsenault Rivera

36216359. sy475

GENRE: Fantasy, Action, Lesbian Romance

The second book continues the saga. This is a story about true love, sacrifice, and political betrayal. What does it take to truly defeat evil? Arsenault Rivera does an amazing job creating a saga to match with any epics.

The Tiger's Daughter (Their Bright Ascendancy #1) by K. Arsenault Riveria

GENRE: Fantasy, Lesbian Romance

This fantasy novel had a lot of ancient Asian influence. It was well written and the tension between the characters was done well. The descriptions allowed me to feel I was there watching the story unfold. I did think a bit about Mulan though.

The Rise of the Resistance: Phoenix One by Jackie D.

42846291. sy475

GENRE: Dystopian, Lesbian Fiction

This book was amazing and well written. It is scary given everything that is currently going on. Maybe there is a plan like this in place. Has anyone seen both the Obama girls? Highly recommended.
